We are not going to guess at this one. Three Forks Regional Jail publishes no phone provider, no per-minute rate, and no instructions for setting up an account. Its website has eight content pages and none of them mention phones. We ruled out the obvious candidate, and we found a documented reason why the usual state-level fallback has nothing on this jail either. Here is exactly what we know, what we ruled out, and what to ask when you call 606-464-2598.
CorrectPay is not the phone vendor. CorrectPay handles this jail’s commissary deposits and sells phone time at plenty of other facilities. Stepping through its own selection flow for Three Forks Regional Jail, facility 29866, leaves commissary deposit as the only enabled service. Phone time is switched off. So money you deposit through CorrectPay will not pay for calls, and CorrectPay is not where you set up a calling account.
The Kentucky statewide assumption does not hold. Kentucky state prisons run on a known stack, and it is tempting to assume a jail in the state uses the same vendors. County and regional jails in Kentucky contract independently, and several use vendors that appear nowhere in the state system. Borrowing another Kentucky jail’s provider and printing it here would be a guess dressed up as a fact.
The Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts published a Jail Communication Services Data Bulletin in 2021, surveying phone vendors and calling rates at jails across the state. It is the single best public source on what a call costs from a Kentucky jail.
It does not cover Three Forks. The bulletin states that the survey excluded the four regional jails operated not by a county, but by a regional jail authority formed under KRS 441.800. Three Forks is one of those four. Searching the report for the jail’s name, for Beattyville, and for its member counties of Lee, Owsley, and Wolfe returns nothing.
That is worth understanding rather than glossing over. The gap is not an oversight by us or by the auditor. It follows from how this jail is legally organized, and it means no state data on its phone vendor exists to be found.
You cannot set up a calling account for Three Forks Regional Jail from information published online, because that information is not published. The account has to be arranged after you find out from the jail which company holds the contract.
One practical note. At most jails the person inside places the call and the family pays, either collect or from a prepaid balance held with the phone vendor. Money on the commissary books is usually a separate pot. Since CorrectPay is confirmed as commissary-only here, that separation is very likely in place at Three Forks, though the jail does not say so.
