Three Forks Regional Jail schedules visits by the gender of the person you are visiting rather than by last name, which is how most Kentucky jails do it. Men are seen Wednesdays and Saturdays, women Thursdays and Sundays, both from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM. People in segregation have a separate Tuesday morning window. Each visit runs 15 minutes, two visitors may be in the booth, and the jail requires photo ID and a sign-in on arrival. There is no pre-approval application published, so the process appears to be walk-in.

The gender split matters more than it might look. If you are visiting a man on a Thursday you have come on the wrong day, even though the jail is open for visits. The state’s August 2026 population report counted 43 women in secure custody and 8 in non-secure custody here, so both schedules are in regular use.
Each inmate gets one 15-minute on-site visit per visitation day. Two visitors may be in the booth at a time, and children do not count toward that two-person limit. Anyone under 18 has to be accompanied by an adult.
Every visitor shows proper ID and signs in. The jail does not spell out which forms of ID it accepts, which is worth asking about ahead of time if the only ID you hold is not a driver’s license.
Three points a family would reasonably expect to find, which are not on the jail’s site:
Whether visits are contact or non-contact. The rules refer to a “visitation booth” and ban food and drink inside it, which points toward non-contact glass visits. The jail never says so outright, so we are not going to state it as fact.
A dress code. No dress code appears anywhere on the site. Most jails have one and enforce it at the door, so arriving in something plain and modest is the safer bet.
Any pre-approval step. No visitor application, registration form, portal, or approved-visitor list is published. The rules describe showing ID and signing in on the day, which reads as walk-in. If you are traveling any distance, a call to 606-464-2598 to confirm you do not need to be on a list first is worth the two minutes.
The jail’s own rules state that No Contact, Restraining, and Protection Orders are enforced during both on-site and remote visits. That sentence confirms remote or video visiting exists here as a category.
Nothing else about it is published: no vendor, no scheduling portal, no price, no hours. We checked the obvious candidate and ruled it out. CorrectPay, the jail’s deposit vendor, sells video visits at other facilities, but has that service switched off for this one. So whoever runs remote visits at Three Forks, it is not CorrectPay. This is a real gap, and the answer has to come from the jail.
Visits may be recorded. Visitors who arrive under the influence, or who are loud or unruly, may be asked to leave and may be arrested. The jail can deny or end a visit and suspend visiting privileges for rule violations. It also states that its visitation rules are subject to change at its discretion, which is a good reason to confirm the schedule before a long drive.
