Why You Can’t Call In

You cannot call Haywood County Detention Center and be connected to the person directly. The jail uses phones tied to the CPC system. The person inside dials out to numbers that are registered and funded in CPC accounts. Your job is to get your number set up and funded before they try to reach you.

Step 1. Create a CPC Account

Go to cpcjail.com and create a free account. Use your real name and the phone number where you want to receive calls. This is the number the person inside will dial.

If more than one person in your household wants to receive calls, check CPC’s website to see whether multiple numbers can be added to a single account or whether each person needs their own.

Step 2. Check Current Rates

Call rates are not published on the Haywood County Sheriff’s website. Once you log in to cpcjail.com, you can see the current per-minute rate for calls from Haywood County Detention Center. Rates can vary based on call type. Check your account for the most current pricing before you fund it.

Step 3. Fund the Account

Add money to your CPC account at cpcjail.com. You can also fund an account at the lobby kiosk in the Haywood County Law Enforcement Center at 1620 Brown Avenue, Waynesville. Without a funded account, calls may not connect.

Phone call funding is separate from InmateCanteen commissary deposits. See the send money guide for how to add money to the commissary account.

Step 4. Receive the Call

Once your account is set up and funded, the person can call your registered number during phone access hours at the facility. The jail sets the phone schedule internally. The person inside will know when phones are available.

When the call comes in, you may hear a recorded announcement identifying the call as coming from a correctional facility. Follow the prompts to accept. If you miss the call, you cannot call back. The person will need to try again during their next phone access time.

CPC Email and Messaging

CPC also provides email and messaging services at Haywood County Detention Center. This lets you and the person inside exchange written messages through the CPC platform. Log in at cpcjail.com to see available messaging options and set up this service separately from voice calls.

Email and messaging through CPC can be a helpful way to stay in touch between calls, especially if phone time is limited.

If Calls Aren’t Connecting

Check these things first:

  • Is your phone number correctly entered in your CPC account?
  • Is there a funded balance in your account?
  • Has your carrier flagged or blocked calls from correctional facilities? Some carriers do this by default.

If calls still don’t go through, contact CPC customer support at cpcjail.com. You can also call the jail at (828) 452-6666 to ask if there’s an issue on the facility’s end.

Call Monitoring and Recording

All calls at Haywood County Detention Center through CPC are monitored and recorded. This is standard practice at county jails. If the person needs to discuss legal matters, they should use their attorney’s direct line, not a CPC call.

Managing Your Number

If you need to add, remove, or block a number from your CPC account, log in at cpcjail.com and manage your settings. You can contact CPC support if you run into trouble with account management.
