Who Can Send Money

Only people on the person’s approved visitor list may deposit funds into their trust account at Pasquotank CI. If you have not yet been added to the visitor list, see the visitation guide for how to get approved first. Without being on the approved list, your deposit will likely be rejected and returned.

Option 1. ConnectNetwork Online

This is the fastest option and works any time, day or night.

1. Go to ConnectNetwork.com and create a free account if you do not have one.
2. Click “Send Money” and search for Pasquotank Correctional Institution.
3. Enter the person’s full legal name and OPUS number.
4. Choose an amount and pay with a debit or credit card.
5. Review the fee before confirming. Fees range from $2.48 to $8.16 depending on the amount.
6. The deposit typically posts within a few hours.

Save your confirmation number in case you need to troubleshoot later.

Option 2. ConnectNetwork by Phone

If you prefer to call, two phone lines handle NC DAC deposits:

• AdvancePay deposits: Call 800-483-8314

Have the person’s full name and OPUS number ready. Phone deposits carry fees in the same range as online deposits ($3.27 to $8.95 depending on amount and method). The automated system walks you through the steps.

Option 3. Western Union

1. Go to a Western Union location or use the Western Union website or app.
2. Use the code NCDAC TRUST to direct the payment to NC DAC.
3. Provide the person’s full legal name and OPUS number.
4. Fee: $3.00 flat.
5. Processing time may be 1 to 2 business days.

Option 4. Money Order (Free)

Mailing a money order is the only fee-free option.

Make the money order payable to TouchPay Holdings LLC.

Write the person’s full legal name and OPUS number clearly on the memo line and on a note inside the envelope. Processing by mail takes longer than online options, so allow several business days.

Fees are set by ViaPath/ConnectNetwork and are shown before you confirm any online or phone transaction.

What the Money Is For

Funds go into the person’s NC DAC trust account. They use it for:

• Commissary: Food, hygiene items, clothing, and other approved goods ordered through the facility commissary system.
• Phone calls: ViaPath/GTL phone calls cost $0.10 per minute at Pasquotank CI. See the phone calls guide for how calls work.
• Other authorized purchases: Some facilities allow purchases from approved vendors or services. Call (252) 331-4881 to ask what is available at Pasquotank.

Account Limits and Restrictions

NC DAC sets limits on how much money can be in a trust account at any time. If the account is at or near the limit, a deposit may be returned. Call the facility or ConnectNetwork support at 877-650-4249 to check the current balance or limit before sending a large amount.

If the person is on a court-ordered restitution or fine hold, a portion of each deposit may go toward that obligation before the rest reaches their account. The facility can explain how this works for their specific case.

What Happens If the Person Transfers

If the person moves to a different NC DAC facility, funds in their trust account generally transfer with them. The receiving facility handles the account after the transfer. Call (252) 331-4881 or the new facility to confirm the timeline.

Troubleshooting a Failed Deposit

If your deposit does not post within 24 to 48 hours:

1. Check that you used the correct OPUS number and full legal name.
2. Confirm you are on the approved visitor list at Pasquotank CI.
3. Call ConnectNetwork support at 877-650-4249 with your confirmation number.
4. Call the facility at (252) 331-4881 if support cannot resolve it.

A deposit sent with the wrong OPUS number or to the wrong person may be returned, which can take several business days.

Do Not Mail Cash

Never mail cash to the facility. Cash sent through the mail will not be credited to the person’s account and is likely to be lost or confiscated. Use one of the four approved methods above.
