Three Ways to Send Money

Randolph County Detention Center gives you three ways to put money on someone’s account.

Option 1: Online at JailATM

Go to deposits.jailatm.com and create a free account. Search for Randolph County Detention Center, enter the person’s inmate ID number and full name, choose an amount, and pay with a debit or credit card. A service fee applies and is shown before you confirm.

This is the easiest option if you don’t live nearby or want to deposit at any hour from home.

Option 2: Lobby Kiosk (24/7)

The JailATM kiosk is in the lobby at 811 New Century Drive, Asheboro, NC 27205. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You need the person’s inmate ID number to complete a kiosk transaction.

Option 3: Money Order by Mail

Mail a money order to:

Rules for mailed money orders:

• Money orders only. Do not send cash, personal checks, or cashier’s checks.
• Make the money order out to the inmate’s full name.
• Write the inmate ID number in the memo line.
• Processing times for mailed deposits are longer than online or kiosk deposits.

Option 4: By Phone

Call JailATM at 877-810-0914 to make a deposit by phone. Have the person’s inmate ID number and a payment method ready.

What You Always Need: The Inmate ID Number

Every deposit method requires the inmate ID number. A deposit submitted without the correct ID can be delayed, misapplied, or returned.

The inmate ID is not shown on the public roster. Call (336) 318-6625 and ask staff for it. Have the person’s full legal name and date of birth ready. Once you have the ID, write it down somewhere you can find it easily.

You can also search the Randolph County inmate roster to confirm the person is in custody before depositing.

What the Money Covers

Money deposited through JailATM goes to the person’s account and can be used for:

• Commissary: Randolph County uses Kimble’s Food by Design for commissary. Inmates can order food, hygiene items, and other authorized purchases from the facility’s commissary program.

When Funds Credit

Online, kiosk, and phone deposits typically credit quickly. Mailed money orders take longer depending on mail delivery and processing at the facility.

Troubleshooting a Failed Deposit

If a deposit doesn’t appear on the account:

1. Check that you entered the correct inmate ID number.
2. Confirm the person is still in custody at Randolph County and has not been transferred or released.
3. Review the JailATM transaction history in your account.
4. Contact JailATM at 877-810-0914 for help.
5. Call the facility at (336) 318-6625 if the deposit is still missing after 24 hours.

Account Holds and Restrictions

The facility may place a hold on an account for disciplinary reasons or court-ordered restitution. If the person can’t access deposited funds, they should speak with housing staff. You can also call (336) 318-6625 for information.

What Happens to Funds at Transfer or Release

If the person is transferred to another facility, contact JailATM at 877-810-0914 to ask about fund transfer procedures. Funds may not automatically follow them to a different system. Upon release, remaining funds are typically disbursed to the person according to the facility’s policy.
