Two Ways to Visit

Randolph County Detention Center gives families two options for visiting: remote video visits from home through iWebVisit, or in-person pod visits at the facility. Each works differently.

Video visits through iWebVisit run from your own device, at home or anywhere with a good internet connection. They’re available every day of the week.

In-person pod visits at the facility follow a pod rotation schedule Monday through Saturday. Call before you travel. The facility previously limited in-person visits due to COVID, and you want to confirm the schedule is active before making the trip.

How to Set Up a Video Visit

1. Go to iwebvisit.com and create a free account.
2. Search for Randolph County Detention Center and add it to your account.
3. Add the person you want to visit using their name and inmate ID.
4. Schedule a session at least 24 hours in advance. You can book up to 3 weeks ahead.
5. Check in to your session 10 minutes before the start time.

Video Visit Schedule

Video visits are available 7 days a week during three daily windows:

Device Compatibility

Visitors Under 17

Visitors under 17 may participate in video visits but must be listed on the iWebVisit account and supervised by an authorized adult throughout the session.

In-person visits follow a pod rotation. Each pod gets a weekly visit window:

Confirm Before You Travel

Call (336) 318-6625 before making the trip for an in-person visit. The facility has previously suspended in-person visits, and the schedule above may be subject to change. Staff can confirm whether visits are active, which pod the person is in, and any current requirements.

Visitor List Requirement

You must be on the inmate’s pre-approved visitor list to visit in person. The person inside must add your name to their list. Show up without being on the list and you will not be permitted to visit. Contact the person ahead of time to make sure you’re added.

What to Bring

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms include:

• Driver’s license or state-issued ID card
• U.S. Passport or Passport Card
• U.S. Military ID

Do not bring bags, purses, or large personal items. Follow the facility’s directions on what to leave in your vehicle.

What’s Not Allowed During Visits

• Exchanging any items with the person inside without staff approval
• Bringing contraband onto facility property (this is a felony)
• Visits by anyone not on the pre-approved list
• Visitors who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Attorneys and clergy may have different visit options outside of standard visitation. Contact the facility directly at (336) 318-6625 to ask about scheduling professional visits.

If a Visit Does Not Go Through

Confirm They’re Still There First

Before any visit, check the Randolph County inmate roster to confirm the person is still in custody. Transfers, releases, and pod changes can happen without notice. A quick search saves a wasted trip.
