Which Visit Schedule Applies to You
The on-site evening visit schedule depends on the person you’re visiting. Before you book, figure out which category they fall into:
| Who | Day |
|---|
| Inmate workers and general population last names A-L | Tuesday evening |
| Female inmates | Wednesday evening |
| Inmate workers and general population last names M-Z | Thursday evening |
If the person is an inmate worker, they may appear on Tuesday’s schedule regardless of last name. The daytime on-site kiosk schedule (Monday through Friday, 9 AM to noon) is not restricted by last name or gender, so it works for anyone during those hours.
Remote video visits from home are available every day including Saturday and Sunday, 9 AM to 8:30 PM. These have no last-name or gender restrictions.
On-Site Kiosk Visits (Free)
Evening slots (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday): 6:00, 6:20, 6:40, 7:00, 7:20, and 7:40 PM. Each slot is 20 to 30 minutes. On-site visits are free.
Daytime slots (Monday through Friday): 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Use the kiosks inside the facility lobby. No daytime slots Saturday or Sunday.
You must be at the facility kiosk to use these slots. The visit happens on a screen at the jail, not through your phone or computer at home.
Remote Video Visits from Home (Paid)
Remote visits run every day including weekends, 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM. You connect from your smartphone, tablet, or computer using the NCIC app or website.
Cost: Approximately $7.50 for a 30-minute session (based on $0.25 per minute) plus a $2.00 connection fee. The exact rate is shown before you confirm.
Remote visits are convenient when you can’t travel to Albemarle, but they do cost money. On-site kiosk visits are always free when you can make the trip.
How to Schedule a Visit
- Go to videovisit.ncic.com or download the NCIC app.
- Create a free account using your name and email.
- Search for Stanly County Detention Center in NC.
- Find the person by name and confirm they are listed.
- Choose the visit type: on-site kiosk or remote video.
- Pick your date and time slot.
- Confirm the booking. You’ll get a confirmation.
All visits must be booked at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. Last-minute or same-day bookings are not accepted.
Guest Limits
Each visit allows a maximum of 2 guests. If you’re bringing a child under 6 years old, that child may count as a third person. Children must be under the supervision of an approved adult visitor at all times during the visit.
What to Expect at the On-Site Kiosk
When you arrive at the facility for a kiosk visit, bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Acceptable IDs include a driver’s license, state ID, U.S. passport, or military ID. Staff will check your identity before the visit begins.
You’ll sit at a video kiosk in the lobby area. The person inside will connect from a kiosk on their end. Visits are monitored.
If You’re Running Late or Need to Cancel
NCIC handles scheduling. If you need to cancel or reschedule, log in to your NCIC account and make changes before the 24-hour window closes. If you have trouble, call NCIC at 800-943-2189.
If you miss a scheduled visit, it may count against the person’s visit for that period. Confirm the cancellation policy at ncic.com or by calling 800-943-2189.
Technical Help for Remote Visits
If your remote video visit doesn’t connect, check these things first:
- Make sure your NCIC account is active and funded (if applicable).
- Check your internet connection.
- Make sure the NCIC app is updated to the latest version.
- Try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa.
If it still doesn’t work, call NCIC at 800-943-2189 before your visit slot expires.

What Remote Video Visits Don’t Replace
