You Cannot Cancel

Once a visit is booked, it cannot be cancelled. Your spot is held until a quarter past the hour; after that, another visitor can take it.

Coming From Far Away

Visitors travelling 100 miles or more each way can have a two-hour visit with proof of where they live. It uses the person’s whole weekend of visiting in one day.

Check In 15 Minutes Early

Be checked in at the lobby no later than 15 minutes before your visit, with photo ID such as a driver’s license, benefit card or military ID. If you are late, you may book another hour that day if the pod has one free.

Children

Anyone under 18 comes with a parent or legal guardian, who books the visit and stays throughout. A legal guardian brings their guardianship papers. Children sit on a stool or a lap, and toys and baby bottles cannot go in.

The First 24 Hours

Someone newly booked can have one 15-minute non-contact visit within 24 hours. Non-contact visits are also available on request, which helps people who have trouble hearing.

Search and Lockers

Everyone passes a metal detector, with two tries. Avoid steel-toed shoes and underwire bras. Implants or walking aids need a doctor’s note. A mouth check or pat search can happen at any time. Lockers cost 25 cents.

Dress Code

No skin-tight clothes, tops showing the chest or waist, mini-skirts or short shorts. Jackets, hooded shirts, hats and watches cannot be worn in the visit room.

In the Room

Two visitors at a time. A brief kiss and embrace at the start and end, everyone seated, and no holding hands or reaching over the glass. Food, candy and drinks are thrown away before the lobby.

When the Weekend Slot Is Gone

Each pod gets one hour on Saturday and one on Sunday, and a booked visit can’t be cancelled. On the weeks you can’t make it, Pigeonly turns photos or a letter from your phone into printed mail for the jail.
