What Suffolk Publishes, in Full
The county names Securus Technologies and links the vendor’s site.
That is the entirety of it. No account creation steps. No per-minute rate. No maximum call length. No policy on monitoring or recording. No guidance on blocking or unblocking a number. No mention of international calls.
We looked in the Sheriff’s complete site index, which runs to 80 pages, and in the county’s own material. It is not there.
Opening the Prepaid Account
The family side of a Securus arrangement is a prepaid account, the AdvanceConnect product, funded in advance so that calls to your number are paid for when they arrive. That is the standard route and the one to ask for.
The vendor publishes no Suffolk County facility listing and no Suffolk rate, so even on that side there is nothing facility specific to give you. Its rate lookup requires a login.
Ask what a call costs when you open the account. It is the only reliable moment to find out.
JPay Is the Other Half, and It Publishes More
JPay, a company in the same group as Securus, lists both Suffolk jails on its own site with their own facility codes. Yaphank is 06705. Riverhead is 06704.
Each listing shows one incarcerated individual kiosk inside the facility, and three services:
- Send Money
- Email
- Outbound Email
Email is sold in stamps, published in bundles that run from five for 1 dollar 25 up to fifty for 12 dollars 50. Outbound messages, the ones your person sends you, are 25 cents each.
Video products appear in the pricing blocks on those pages without a linked service row, so we are not going to tell you video messaging works here. Treat it as unconfirmed.
The JPay Listing Has an Error Worth Knowing About
JPay’s own page for Yaphank publishes Riverhead’s address and phone number. It shows 100 Center Drive, Riverhead, NY 11901. The Yaphank address, 200 Glover Drive, does not appear on it anywhere.
That matters for one specific reason: if you are using a vendor page to work out where to drive or where to post something, this one will send you to the wrong building. Never take Yaphank’s address from JPay. The county’s own material, and the mail page in this guide, are the sources for that.
It is also a reasonable illustration of why vendor listings are worth cross-checking. They are usually right about the service and not always right about the facility.
What Is Not Here
Three vendors families often expect at a New York county jail are confirmed absent.
We checked ViaPath Technologies and its ConnectNetwork and GettingOut products, and read the full New York facility directory on that system. It runs from Steuben through Sullivan to Tioga with no Suffolk entry at all. Also not found: TouchPay, ICSolutions, Smart Communications and TextBehind.
So if a page tells you to set up a ConnectNetwork account for Suffolk County, it is wrong.
Messaging as an Alternative to Visiting
Worth considering at this jail specifically, because visiting here has real friction: an online registration, a six digit number the county does not publish, a phone reservation, and no visiting at all on Sundays or Mondays.
Email through the kiosk system needs none of that. It costs a stamp, your person can reply for 25 cents, and it does not require anyone to be approved before the first message.
Working Out Why a Call Is Not Arriving
- Is the prepaid account funded, and is it tied to the number you are expecting the call on?
- Has the number changed? A new handset or number means setting the account up again.
- Are they still at Yaphank? Federal detainees here rose from none in 2021 to 39 by August 2026, and they move on a federal timetable.
- Is it the facility end? The main line for both jails is 631-852-2200, and Central Records is on 631-852-2241 around the clock.
For billing or account problems, the vendor handles those directly.
