Phone Calls at North Central Correctional Complex

NCCC uses GTL/ViaPath through ConnectNetwork. Set up your account at connectnetwork.com and register your number before the first call comes through.

Overview

North Central Correctional Complex uses Global Tel Link (GTL), marketed under the ViaPath brand, for inmate phone calls. Calls are managed through the ConnectNetwork platform at connectnetwork.com. To receive calls, you need an active ConnectNetwork account with your phone number registered and funds available. Your loved one initiates every call from inside the facility. You cannot call in. Calls are available during non-working hours on weekdays and throughout weekends. All calls are recorded and monitored. Commissary deposits and phone account funding are separate accounts.

How Phone Calls Work at NCCC

NCCC uses GTL’s ConnectNetwork platform for all inmate calls. Your loved one dials out from a facility phone during approved hours, and the call routes to your registered number. You cannot call into the facility.

All calls are recorded and monitored by facility staff. Legal calls to attorneys may qualify for a separate confidential call process. The inmate should speak with their unit team or case manager about privileged call procedures.

Calls are available during weekday evenings (after working hours) and throughout weekends. Standard call length is limited to 30 minutes per call. If your loved one needs to reach you outside those hours, they can try again when the next calling window opens.

Step 1: Create a ConnectNetwork Account

Go to connectnetwork.com and register an account. You’ll need:

  • Your full name and address
  • The phone number you want to receive calls on
  • A payment method to fund the account

You can create an account online or contact ConnectNetwork support. The current support number is listed on their website.

Step 2: Register Your Phone Number

After creating your account, add the phone number your loved one will call. This must be done before any call can connect. If your number isn’t registered, the call won’t go through.

You can register a mobile or landline number. ConnectNetwork may have restrictions on VoIP numbers. Check their FAQ or call support if you use a VoIP service.

Step 3: Fund Your Account

ConnectNetwork uses a prepaid model. You load funds into your account, and charges are deducted as calls come through. You can also set up auto-replenish so your account stays funded automatically.

As of April 2026, FCC rate caps limit calls from state prisons to $0.11 per minute. A 30-minute call from NCCC costs no more than $3.30 before applicable fees. Log into your ConnectNetwork account to see current pricing for calls from this facility.

Phone Account vs. Commissary Account

This is a common point of confusion. The JPay deposit you make to the inmate’s trust account for commissary does not fund phone calls to you.

  • Commissary deposits (JPay): go through connectnetwork.com under the inmate’s account. See the Send Money guide.
  • Phone account funding: goes through your own ConnectNetwork account at connectnetwork.com.

These are separate. Funding one does not carry over to the other. Make sure you’ve funded your phone account and not only the inmate’s commissary.

Video Visits

NCCC may offer video visitation through the ViaPath portal at ohdoc.gtlvisitme.com/app. Contact NCCC at (740) 387-7040 or email [email protected] to confirm whether video visitation is currently active and available hours.

Troubleshooting Missed or Failed Calls

If a call doesn’t connect:

  • Confirm your number is registered in your ConnectNetwork account.
  • Confirm your account has a positive balance.
  • Check whether your phone carrier blocks calls from correctional facilities. Some prepaid and VoIP carriers block these calls.
  • Log into connectnetwork.com and check for account alerts or service outages.

If calls were connecting before and have stopped, call ConnectNetwork support through their website or contact NCCC at (740) 387-7040 to ask whether there is an account restriction or a facility-side issue.
