Horry County uses McDaniel Supply Company to manage inmate commissary deposits at J. Reuben Long Detention Center, with an in-person kiosk option and mail-in alternatives for people who prefer not to deposit online.
Online. Go to McDaniel Supply Company’s site (mcdanielsupplyco.net) and follow the deposit process for J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Fees may apply and are shown before you confirm the deposit.
Lobby kiosk. If you’re near the facility, use the walk-in kiosk in the lobby. It charges a flat $3.00 fee regardless of deposit amount.
Mail. Send a USPS money order or IRS check (cash is not accepted through the mail) addressed to:

Western Union. Send a Western Union transfer payable to “Horry County Detention Center,” using the code city “Horry.”
Commissary orders are processed Monday and Thursday mornings and delivered to inmates Tuesday and Friday mornings. Depositing right before a processing day gets funds to the person faster than depositing right after one.
If you want the fastest option and don’t mind an online account, McDaniel Supply’s online deposit is typically quickest. If you’re local and want to pay in person, the $3.00 flat kiosk fee is predictable regardless of how much you’re depositing. Mailed money orders take the longest since they depend on postal delivery time before they’re even processed.
Deposits fund the inmate’s commissary account, used for approved purchases inside the facility. It works much like a state prison trust fund account, administered through the county’s own vendor instead of SCDC.
For online or kiosk issues, McDaniel Supply Company’s support line is the right first call, since Horry County’s own detention center staff don’t handle vendor-side payment troubleshooting. For a mailed money order that seems to have gone missing, call the Cashier’s Office through the facility’s main line at (843) 915-5140.
