Mailing Address
All mail to inmates at Kleberg County Detention Center goes to the P.O. Box, not the physical facility. Use this exact address for every letter:
[Inmate Full Legal Name and PID Number]
Kleberg County Detention Center
P.O. Box 1360
Kingsville, TX 78363
Include the inmate’s housing unit location if you know it. Mail without both the name and PID number may not be delivered and will not receive a disposition notice.
Do not send mail to 1500 E. King Ave., Kingsville, TX 78363. That is the physical facility address and is not used for inmate mail.
Include your full name and return address in the upper left corner of the envelope. Non-deliverable mail is returned to the sender with a mail disposition notice, but only if a return address is included.
Use U.S. Postal Service first-class mail. Items that are not standard letter mail should go through USPS to be accepted.
Sending Photos
You can include photos in your letters, but there are strict rules.
Each envelope may contain no more than 6 photos. Photos must be standard print size, no larger than 5 inches by 7 inches. Polaroid photos and photos with cardboard backing are not accepted. Photos showing nudity, children who are not fully clothed, gang signs, gestures, tattoos, or tattoo art will be confiscated.
Photo collages are not allowed. Do not use photo paper with adhesive backing.
What Not to Include
Do not include cash, money orders, cashier’s checks, stamps, stickers, glitter, ribbons, beads, or any non-paper items inside an envelope. These will cause the letter to be rejected.
Greeting cards with ribbon, glitter, or string attachments are also not allowed. Cards must be written in ink. Pencil is not accepted.
Keep letter content clear of threats, coded language, or anything that could be used to plan illegal activity. All mail is reviewed before the inmate receives it.
Sending Books
Books are allowed but must come directly from an approved source. Acceptable sources include Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, or directly from the publisher. Shipment must be via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Books purchased from Amazon or sent from family members or local bookstores are not accepted. Hardback and leather-bound books are not allowed. Spiral-bound books are also not allowed.
Adult magazines are not permitted.
