Kleberg County Detention Center allows in-person visits on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Each session is 20 minutes, and inmates may receive two 20-minute visits per week. Each visit is 20 minutes long. An inmate can receive two 20-minute visits per week, with the week starting on Sunday. Only one visitor is allowed per inmate per day.
Close Custody and MAX Security inmates are on a separate schedule. Call (361) 595-8500 before visiting to confirm their available times.
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, state ID, or military ID. A Texas Department of Criminal Justice ID is not accepted. Visitors who are 17 and older must show ID.
Arrive no more than 30 minutes before the start of the visiting window. Arriving too early is not allowed.
All visitors are subject to a warrant check. If a warrant comes back, you will not be permitted to visit.
Dress appropriately. The facility does not allow tank tops, clothing that is too tight, skirts more than 3 inches above the knee, see-through clothing, torn jeans with skin exposed above the knee, or hats unless worn for documented medical or religious reasons.
