Visiting Sessions
Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex holds two visiting sessions each day:
| Session | Visit Window | Arrival Window |
|---|
| Session 1 | 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. | 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. |
| Session 2 | 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. | Noon to 12:45 p.m. |
Arriving before the opening of the arrival window means you will wait outside. Arriving after the closing of the arrival window means you will be turned away. Plan accordingly.
EKCC’s official pages do not publish which specific days of the week visits are held. Call (606) 743-2800 before planning your trip to confirm which days visits are scheduled.
How to Schedule a Visit
Visits at EKCC must be scheduled at least one week in advance. Walk-in visits are not permitted. Contact the facility at (606) 743-2800 to ask about the scheduling process and to confirm you are on the approved visitor list before making the drive.
Monthly Visiting Limit
Each General Population inmate at EKCC is allowed 3 in-person visits per month. Video visits through Securus are separate and do not count against the in-person limit. A General Population inmate can also receive up to 3 video visits per month.
Approved Visitor List
You must be on the approved visitor list before your first visit. Contact the facility at (606) 743-2800 to ask about the visitor approval process and what form or documentation is required.
The visiting page notes that it is the inmate’s responsibility to notify their visitors about any changes to visiting privileges. If privileges have been restricted, the inmate should communicate that to you directly before you make the trip.
Visitor Limits Per Visit
A maximum of 3 visitors are allowed per contact visit. Children who can walk independently count as one of the three visitors. Infants who cannot walk do not count toward the limit.
If you need to bring more than 3 people, additional family members will need to visit in a separate scheduled session.
Restroom Policy
You must use the restroom before entering the visiting area. If you leave the visiting area for any reason, including to use the restroom, your visit ends for that session. Plan ahead. If you have a documented medical condition that requires restroom access, contact the facility in advance to arrange accommodations.
