The Correct Mailing Address

The most common reason mail gets delayed or returned at Lee Adjustment Center is a missing or incorrect address format. Because LAC is operated by CoreCivic under a KDOC contract, the address must include “CoreCivic/” directly before the facility name.

The correct format is:

[Inmate Full Legal Name] [KDOC DOC Number] CoreCivic/Lee Adjustment Center 168 Lee Adjustment Center Drive Beattyville, KY 41311

Do not use P.O. Box. Do not leave out the “CoreCivic/” prefix. Mail that doesn’t follow this format may not reach your loved one.

What You Can Include in Mail

Standard white envelopes with regular paper letters are fine. Photographs are accepted when they follow the facility’s photo rules: no explicit content, no nudity, no sexually suggestive imagery. Keep photos standard-sized (4x6 is typical) unless you have confirmed different guidelines directly with the facility.

Do not include cash, money orders, stamps, stickers, or anything that could be considered contraband. Mail containing prohibited items will be confiscated. The inmate may also face disciplinary consequences.

All incoming mail is inspected before it’s delivered.
