How Collect Calls Work
When an inmate at Lee Adjustment Center makes a phone call, it arrives at your number as a collect call. You’ll hear a recorded announcement identifying the caller and asking you to accept the charges. You must accept to connect.
To receive calls, your phone number must be on the inmate’s registered contact list, which is reviewed and approved by the facility. If your number isn’t on the list, the call won’t go through. Tell your loved one to add your number to their contact list so calls can reach you.
Calls are typically limited to 15 minutes per call. They may be monitored and recorded for security purposes.
If You’re Not Receiving Calls
A few things may prevent calls from coming through. Your number may not yet be on the inmate’s approved contact list. The inmate may not have phone privileges at the moment, or they may be in a restricted housing unit where phone access is limited.
If you expect calls and aren’t receiving them, contact the facility at (606) 464-2866 to ask about your loved one’s phone access status.
Electronic Messaging Through JPay
If you want to send a written message faster than physical mail, JPay is available at jpay.com. Create an account, find Lee Adjustment Center, and send a message. Stamps for electronic messages start at $4.40 for 10. Messages are reviewed before the inmate receives them.
Attorney-Client Calls
Privileged attorney-client calls are handled separately from regular inmate calls and are subject to different monitoring rules. Contact the facility directly for information about setting up privileged communication.
