Starting March 30, 2026, Two Bridges Regional Jail no longer accepts personal mail from family and friends directly at the facility. Everything gets mailed to an offsite scanning center in Phoenix, Maryland, and the biggest thing to get right is including the inmate’s booking number, clearly marked, on the envelope. Get that wrong and your letter won’t be delivered at all. This guide covers the correct address, the booking number rule, what’s accepted, and where legal mail and packages still go.
Two Bridges Regional Jail splits its mail into two tracks, and mailing to the wrong one means your letter gets returned or never delivered.

As of March 30, 2026, any personal mail from family or friends sent to the Wiscasset address directly is returned to sender. Use the Phoenix, Maryland P.O. Box for anything personal.
This is the single most common way mail gets rejected at Two Bridges Regional Jail: you must clearly write the inmate’s booking number on the envelope, prefixed with “BN#.” The scanning system reads mail electronically and sorts it by that number. If it’s missing or hard to read, your letter will not be delivered, according to the jail’s own mail scanning FAQ. Once your letter reaches the P.O. Box in Phoenix, Maryland, it’s scanned and converted into an electronic document. The inmate reads it for free on a tablet available in their housing pod. The physical copy is destroyed after scanning, but the inmate can view the electronic version for the rest of their incarceration. Delivery generally takes 1 to 3 business days once the mail reaches the P.O. Box, not counting the time it takes the postal service to get it there in the first place.
Photos are scanned and delivered the same way as letters, as long as they don’t contain nudity or otherwise inappropriate content. A rejected photo won’t be delivered, and the jail’s materials don’t spell out a separate appeal process for a rejected image.
Two Bridges Regional Jail’s site states this in capital letters: NO MONEY IS TO BE SENT VIA THE MAIL. Money orders are also no longer accepted by mail. This applies to both the scanning center P.O. Attorney-client privileged mail, along with packages and parcels, should be mailed directly to the facility at 522 Bath Road, Wiscasset, ME 04578, not to the offsite scanning P.O. Box. The jail’s materials don’t spell out additional handling details, such as whether legal mail is opened only in the inmate’s presence. If your family member was recently moved to Two Bridges Regional Jail from the Knox County Jail in Rockland, which now operates only as a 72-hour holding facility, confirm their current booking number before mailing anything.
