Send Money to Piedmont CI. ConnectNetwork Deposits

Who Can Send Money

Only people on the person’s approved visitor list may deposit funds to a Piedmont CI account. If you are not yet on the approved list, you will need to complete the visitor application first. See the visitation guide for the enrollment process.

What You Always Need

Every deposit method requires:

• The person’s full legal name (as it appears in NC DAC records)
• Their OPUS Number (the NC DAC unique identifier)

Find the OPUS Number with the NC OPI search at webapps.doc.state.nc.us/opi/offendersearch.do?method=view. A deposit sent without the correct OPUS Number can be delayed or returned.

How to Send Money Online

1. Go to connectnetwork.com or download the ConnectNetwork app.
2. Create a free account or log in.
3. Search for Piedmont Correctional Institution.
4. Enter the person’s full legal name and OPUS Number.
5. Choose a deposit amount.
6. Pay with a debit or credit card.
7. A service fee between $2.48 and $8.16 is added and shown before you confirm.

Deposits typically post within a few hours.

How to Send Money by Phone

Call the Trust Fund line at 888-428-1845 or the AdvancePay line at 800-483-8314. Have the person’s name and OPUS Number ready. A service fee between $3.27 and $8.95 applies.

How to Send Money via Western Union

Use Western Union’s Quick Collect service with the payment code NCDAC TRUST. Bring the person’s name and OPUS Number. A $3.00 fee applies. Western Union locations are at many grocery stores, pharmacies, and check-cashing locations.

How to Send a Money Order

Money orders are the lowest-cost option with no service fee.

1. Make the money order payable to TouchPay.
2. Write the person’s full legal name and OPUS Number in the memo line.
3. Mail to: TouchPay Holdings LLC, PO Box 174, Houston, TX 77001-0174.

Allow extra time for mail delivery and processing, typically 7 to 10 business days.

What the Money Covers

Funds go into the person’s account at Piedmont CI and can be used for:

• Commissary purchases: food, hygiene items, clothing, and other approved goods
• Phone calls: calling credits through ViaPath/GTL via ConnectNetwork
• Other authorized items: postage, writing supplies, and facility-approved products

What Happens to Funds During a Transfer

Piedmont CI is a reception and intake facility. Many people transfer to a permanent facility after processing. When a transfer happens, the account balance typically follows the person to the new facility through the NC DAC system. If you are not sure a deposit reached the account after a transfer, call Piedmont CI at (980) 407-6300 or contact the receiving facility directly.

Troubleshooting a Failed or Delayed Deposit

If a deposit does not post within 48 hours:

• Confirm you used the correct OPUS Number and legal name
• Check your email for a confirmation receipt from ConnectNetwork
• Call ConnectNetwork customer support through connectnetwork.com
• Call Piedmont CI at (980) 407-6300 to ask staff to verify the account

Do not send a second deposit until you have confirmed the first one failed. Duplicate deposits are difficult to reverse.

Packages

Approved packages for Piedmont CI inmates are available through ncinmatepackage.com, operated by Union Supply Direct. Standard mail packages are not accepted. Use the approved vendor system to send clothing, food, or other approved items.
