Put the person’s full name and their jail number, if you know it, on the first line. If you do not have the number yet, the full name still works, and you can ask for the number on the first call.

Not the State Prison in Auburn

Auburn Correctional Facility, the state prison in the same city, has its own address and its own mail rules. So does Cayuga Correctional Facility in Moravia. A letter for someone in the county jail goes to County House Road.

Email, Started From the Inside

People held here can buy email from commissary. The Sheriff’s FAQ says you cannot start an email to someone in the jail, but you can reply to one they send you. All emails may be read.

What the Jail Does Not Do

The jail does not take messages for the people held there. Letters, calls they make, and visits are the ways in.

Money Is Separate

A money order made out to the person can be posted to the jail, but keep it separate from letters you want them to read. See the money guide for the details.

Photos From Your Phone
