Two Ways In

The Sheriff lists two routes for putting money on someone’s commissary account. Cash is not allowed in the hands of the person held.

Lobby kioskThe jail lobbyCash only, a small fee

The visitor sheet calls the kiosk a reverse ATM. You feed in cash and it credits the account.

By Post

Make the money order out to the person by name, and send it to the jail’s address. Add their jail number if you have it. Money orders are the only thing accepted by post, so no cash and no personal checks.

At the Lobby Machine

The kiosk takes cash only. The Sheriff notes a small fee, and the machine shows it before you confirm. This is the quickest route if you are already at the jail for a visit.

Bail Is Different

Bail is not a commissary deposit. It can be paid in person at the jail with cash or a card, or online through GovPayNet using pay location code 6079. Card payments carry a non-refundable service fee, and only the card holder can use the card. Call 315-253-2911 for the bail amount and the details the online form asks for.

Phone Credit Is Separate Again

Calls run through GTL’s Inmate Family Prepay account, which you fund with GTL, not through commissary. See the phone guide.

Money Is Not the Only Thing They Need

A deposit buys snacks and stamps. Pigeonly sends printed photos and letters from your phone to County House Road, which is the part of staying close that money does not cover.
