Calls Go Out, Not In

The Sheriff’s FAQ is clear: people held here are not allowed to receive calls. After booking, they can make calls out. All calls may be recorded.

GTL Inmate Family Prepay

The visitor sheet lists one phone service: GTL Inmate Family Prepay, 1-866-230-7761. A prepaid account in your name lets calls to your number go through and be paid from your balance.

Set it up before you are waiting for a call. A collect call to a number that cannot accept it may never connect.

Collect Calls

The FAQ describes calls as collect calls. Whether your phone can accept a collect call depends on your carrier, and many mobile plans block them. A prepaid account avoids that problem.

Email Instead of a Call

People inside can buy email from commissary. You can reply to one, but you cannot start one. That is often the easiest way to agree a time for a call.

When to Call the Jail Itself

The jail’s main line, 315-253-2911, is for confirming custody and bail, not for reaching the person. For concerns about someone’s welfare:
