Cortland County Jail Inmate Search

The Inmate Search Link Goes to VINE

The Cortland County Sheriff’s website lists Inmate Search under Corrections. It does not open a county list. It opens New York VINE, the state’s custody notification service.

VINE takes a first and last name and shows whether someone is held in a New York county jail. It can also alert you when their custody status changes.

For a Fresh Arrest, Call

Booking takes time. If the arrest was recent and VINE has nothing, call the jail on 607-756-4275. The Sheriff’s main office is 607-758-5599.

The Building and Who Is Held

The Cortland County Correctional Facility was built in 1990 for 50 people. In 2014 the indoor exercise area was turned into dormitory housing, and the jail now holds up to 80. It holds people awaiting trial and people serving county sentences. Someone sentenced to state prison time moves into the DOCCS system and the state lookup.
