Using the Clermont County Inmate Roster

The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office maintains an online inmate roster at clermontsheriff.org/jail-inmate-search. This is the official tool for finding someone currently held at Clermont County Jail.

Search by the person’s name. Results typically show:

• Full name
• Booking date
• Charges
• Bond information
• Upcoming court dates

The roster is updated regularly, but bookings or releases from the past few hours may not appear right away. Allow a few hours after a recent arrest before expecting the person to show up.

Why the ODRC Search Won’t Work Here

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) Offender Search at appgateway.drc.ohio.gov/OffenderSearch covers people serving state sentences at ODRC facilities. Clermont County Jail holds:

• Pretrial detainees awaiting trial or bond resolution
• Sentenced county inmates serving shorter county sentences
• Possible contract inmates held for state or federal agencies under housing agreements

None of these people appear in the ODRC search. Use only the county roster above.

Who Clermont County Jail Holds

Clermont County Jail is a mixed-population facility. At any given time it may hold:

• People arrested and awaiting arraignment or trial
• People sentenced to county jail terms (typically less than one year)
• People being held on state or federal detainers pending transfer
• People awaiting transfer to an ODRC facility after sentencing

If someone was recently sentenced to state prison, they may still be at the county jail for weeks before transferring. Use the county roster until they show up in the ODRC search.

Why the Search Might Return No Result

If the person isn’t on the county roster, common reasons include:

• Recent booking: The roster may take a few hours to update after a new arrest.
• Name mismatch: The system uses legal names. Nicknames, maiden names, or spelling variations won’t match.
• Already transferred: If they were sentenced to state prison, they may have moved to an ODRC facility. Check the ODRC Offender Search at appgateway.drc.ohio.gov/OffenderSearch.
• Already released: They may have posted bond, completed their sentence, or been released on their own recognizance.
