Using the ODRC Offender Search

Go to appgateway.drc.ohio.gov/OffenderSearch and search by:

• First and last name
• ODRC ID number
• Alias (nickname or other name used)

Results typically show:

• Full name and ODRC number
• Current facility (Noble Correctional Institution if they’re there)
• Admission date
• Offense and sentence information
• Projected release date

What the Search Shows vs. What It Doesn’t

The ODRC search covers everyone currently in ODRC custody at state prisons, including NCI. It does not cover:

• People in county jails or local lockups
• Federal inmates (check BOP at bop.gov/inmateloc/)
• People awaiting trial at county facilities

If someone was sentenced to an ODRC facility but isn’t showing yet, they may still be in a county jail awaiting transfer. County rosters are separate from the ODRC system.

Why the Search Might Return No Result

Common reasons:

• Name mismatch: The ODRC system uses legal names. Try alternate spellings or middle names.
• Recently transferred: If the person arrived at NCI within the past few hours, the record may not have updated yet.
• Different facility: They may have transferred to another ODRC facility. The search will show where they are.
• Released: They may have completed their sentence, been paroled, or released for another reason.

Call (740) 732-5188 if you believe the person is at NCI but the search doesn’t confirm it.

After You Find Them

Once you confirm the person is at Noble Correctional Institution:

• To get release notifications: Register with VINE at vinelink.com or call 1-800-770-0192.
