Paying a Mesquite Class C Misdemeanor Fine

Mesquite Municipal Court, Mon–Fri, cash or credit card.

Overview

Class C misdemeanors are the most common reason people end up in Mesquite Police Jail — traffic warrants, city ordinance violations, minor offenses. Getting out means either paying the fine at Mesquite Municipal Court or earning enough jail credit. Both options are handled through the city, not Dallas County.

Quick Facts

  • Payment location: Mesquite Municipal Court, 211 Municipal Way, Mesquite, TX 75149.
  • Court phone: (972) 216-6206. Hours: Monday through Friday, business hours only.
  • Accepted payment: cash, Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. No weekend or after-hours payments.
  • Jail credit: $100 per day toward Mesquite Class C fines. Each day starts at 12:00 AM.
  • Alias warrants can be bonded by the inmate, an attorney, or a bail bond company.

Where to Pay

All City of Mesquite Class C misdemeanor fines and warrants are paid at:

Mesquite Municipal Court 211 Municipal Way, Mesquite, TX 75149 Phone: (972) 216-6206 Hours: Monday through Friday, business hours

Payment is not accepted on weekends or after hours for Class C charges. If someone is arrested on a Friday night on a Class C warrant, the earliest court payment option is Monday morning.

What Payment Methods Are Accepted

Cash or credit card: Mastercard, Visa, or Discover. No checks, no money orders, no debit-only cards at the court window.

The Jail Credit Option

The City of Mesquite assigns a monetary value to time served for Class C misdemeanor tickets and warrants. Each day in custody earns $100 toward Mesquite Class C fines. Each day starts at 12:00 AM. A person booked at 11:30 PM earns credit starting at midnight.

Jail credit applies only to City of Mesquite Class C charges. It does not apply to warrants from other agencies, county charges, or felony charges.

Alias vs. Capias Warrants

Alias warrant: No plea entered yet. Can be resolved by posting bond — the inmate, a bail bond company, or an attorney can post. This allows release before the court date.

Capias warrant: A plea was already entered and the court agreement wasn’t followed. The only ways out are paying the full fine amount or earning enough jail credit to cover it. Bond cannot be posted on a Capias warrant.

Out-of-City Warrants

If someone is in Mesquite’s custody on a warrant from another city or county, Mesquite cannot accept payment for those charges. Payment goes to the issuing agency. The exception: Dallas County Sheriff fines and bonds must be paid directly to the Dallas County Sheriff.
