How Phone Calls Work

Once booking is complete, inmates at Mesquite Police Jail are allowed one free phone call. After that, calls are collect — placed from inside the cell block. When a collect call comes in, you’ll hear a prompt to accept the charges before the call connects.

What to Expect

Mesquite Police Jail is a short-stay facility. Most people are arraigned within 24 hours and either bond out or transfer to Dallas County Jail for felony charges. What Collect Means for Billing
