Getting someone out of Mesquite Police Jail depends entirely on the charge. Class C misdemeanors — the most common reason people end up here — are handled at Mesquite Municipal Court and can be paid by cash or card. Felonies and Class A/B misdemeanors are a different process entirely: those go through the Dallas County Sheriff’s bond desk in Dallas.

It shows the charges and bond amount for everyone currently in custody. The bond amount listed is what was set at arraignment. If the amount shows $0.00, either no bond has been set yet or the charge qualifies for time-served credit.
Arraignments happen every morning between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, so if someone was arrested overnight, the bond amount may not be set until the next morning.

Jail credit: While waiting, inmates earn $100 per day toward City of Mesquite Class C fines. Each day starts at 12:00 AM. This credit only applies to City of Mesquite Class C charges — not county or other agency charges.
Alias warrants (no plea entered) can be bonded by the inmate, a bail bond company, or an attorney. Capias warrants (plea entered, court agreement broken) can only be resolved by paying the fine in full or earning enough jail credit.

City of Mesquite employees cannot accept bonds or fines for felony or Class A/B misdemeanor charges. Payment must go directly to Dallas County.
