How JailPackStore Works
JailPackStore is the commissary deposit platform for Cumberland County Detention Center. When you send money through JailPackStore, the funds go toward the person’s commissary account. They use those funds to purchase approved items: food, snacks, hygiene products, stationery, and other items the facility makes available.
JailPackStore is an online service. You access it at jailpackstore.com/store/index.
What You Need Before You Send Money
Before you start, have the following ready:
- Full legal name of the person in custody (as it appears on their booking record)
- ID number (find this on the CCSO active inmate roster at cumberlandsheriffnc.gov:8000/active_inmates/Inmates.aspx or from the person directly)
- A debit or credit card for payment
How to Deposit Money Through JailPackStore
Step 1. Go to jailpackstore.com/store/index.
Step 2. Search for Cumberland County Detention Center or browse to it in the facility list.
Step 3. Enter the person’s name and ID number to locate their account.
Step 4. Select a deposit amount and choose your payment method.
Step 5. Review the service fee shown at checkout. Confirm the transaction.
Deposits typically post to the commissary account within a few hours. Processing times can vary. If funds do not appear after 24 to 48 hours, contact JailPackStore or the Information Desk at (910) 672-5630.
What the Money Covers
Funds deposited through JailPackStore go toward commissary purchases. Commissary items at most county jails include:
- Snack foods, instant noodles, chips, and drinks
- Hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and deodorant
- Stationery: writing paper, envelopes, and stamps
- Over-the-counter health items, depending on what the facility approves
- Phone credits, if the GTL account draws from the commissary balance
For specific questions about what is available through commissary at Cumberland County Detention Center, call the Information Desk at (910) 672-5630 or (910) 672-5622.
GTL Phone Calls and the Commissary Account
Phone calls at Cumberland County Detention Center go through GTL (ViaPath/GettingOut) as collect calls. In some facilities, GTL draws phone call costs from the commissary or trust account. In others, calls are billed directly to the number being called.
Exact details of how phone charges interact with the commissary balance at Cumberland County are not published online. For clarity on whether commissary funds cover phone calls, call the Information Desk at (910) 672-5630. See the phone calls guide for more on how collect calls work at this facility.
Service Fees
JailPackStore charges a service fee on each deposit. The fee amount is displayed at checkout before you confirm the transaction. The facility does not set or receive these fees. If the fee is a concern, compare deposit amounts to find the most efficient option.
Account Limits and Restrictions
Exact per-transaction limits and account balance caps are not published. JailPackStore will display limits during the deposit process if any apply. If the person has a court-ordered hold on their account for restitution or fines, part or all of a deposit may be applied to that obligation first.
For questions about account holds or balance issues, contact the Detention Center at (910) 323-1500 or by email at [email protected].
Troubleshooting a Failed Deposit
If your deposit does not show up after 48 hours:
- Confirm the person is still at Cumberland County Detention Center using the CCSO roster at cumberlandsheriffnc.gov:8000/active_inmates/Inmates.aspx.
- Check that the name and ID number you entered were correct.
- Contact JailPackStore customer service using the contact information on their website.
- Call the Information Desk at (910) 672-5630 or (910) 672-5622 to ask about the account.
What Happens If the Person Is Transferred or Released
Transfer to state prison: If the person receives a state sentence and transfers to a NC DOC facility, contact JailPackStore to ask whether the remaining balance follows them or is returned. The two systems may not be compatible.
Release: Most jails return unused commissary balances to the depositor or to the person upon release. Contact JailPackStore and the Detention Center at (910) 323-1500 to confirm the refund process.
Transfer to federal custody: If the person is moved to a federal facility, the county commissary balance is generally not transferable. Contact JailPackStore for your options.
Sending Money the Wrong Way
Do not attempt to mail cash or money orders directly to the facility for commissary purposes. The correct way to fund the commissary account is through JailPackStore online. Cash mailed to the facility is likely to be returned or rejected, and sending it creates processing delays.
If you have questions about alternate deposit methods, call the Information Desk at (910) 672-5630.
