Davidson Correctional Center is a minimum custody, ACA-accredited reentry prison in Lexington, Davidson County, NC. It holds 258 male residents and is operated by the NC Department of Adult Correction. The facility has a history going back to the 1931 Conner Bill when the state took over county prisons. It has operated a work release program since June 1964, one of the oldest such programs in NC. Programs include Davidson Community College vocational horticulture, AA, Yokefellows, Prison Ministries, DART aftercare, and multiple work and community assignments.
