The FCI Seagoville Satellite Camp is a minimum-security federal prison camp attached to the main FCI compound. It holds approximately 94 male inmates and uses the same mailing address and phone number as the main FCI. Visiting days are different: Camp inmates can only have visitors on Saturday, Sunday, and Federal Holidays. Phone calls, mail, money, and CorrLinks email work the same way as the main compound.
A Federal Prison Camp (also called a satellite camp or FPC) is the lowest security level in the BOP system. Camps typically have dormitory-style housing with minimal perimeter security. Inmates are generally non-violent, have shorter remaining sentences, and have demonstrated good behavior: often transferred from a higher-security facility after earning it.

Camp inmates and main compound inmates are in separate visiting rooms and do not visit together.
The BOP assigns inmates to the Satellite Camp based on a combination of factors: security scoring, sentence length remaining, offense type, and disciplinary history. Typically, camp inmates have fewer than 10 years remaining and a minimum-security score. Inmates at the main FCI can request a transfer to the camp if they meet the criteria, but designation decisions are made by the BOP: not the inmate.
A move from the main FCI to the camp is generally a positive development and can indicate the person is closer to release.
Visiting the camp follows the same general process as the main FCI: you must be on the inmate’s pre-approved visitor list before arriving. The inmate submits a visitor request form (BP-629) to their unit team. Approval typically takes 1–4 weeks.
